  • powerlifting v.s. bodybuilding?

What is the difference in training techniques? I've heard more weight for powerlifting and then more rest between sets...and bodybuilding you don't do as much weight and almost no rest between sets. I want size and cut....what do I do?

well powerlifters actually practice certain movments...they are interested in getting weight up. Most powerlifters though train like bodybuilders for most the year and when a competition is coming up 2 months before they will perfect their technique...this is also because if someone practiced powerlifting motions year round they wouldn't be around the sport to long with injuries. If you want to be cut you need to get your diet down...muscle is tough to get...you need to trick your muscle into growing as it is something that it doesn't WANT to do...I posted quite a few articles in this section and the website in my sig is a good place to start to learn how to train.

The other thing you have you realize that is that a PLing routine builds the CNS in a different way. It builds muscle too, but in a different way. This is why you can have a guy who weighs 160lbs deadlififting 415lbs without a problem.

It is still a major deal, no matter which you are using, to create a structural balance though. Strong lats, delts, traps and other muscles help to build a bigger lift, even when you don't think those muscles play a role.

If you want size yet maintain a nice looking body you have to powerbuild, do the heavy lifts, the low reps but also do the isolation techniques
