I usually try to go do my cardio in the AM when I wake up before I eat anything to maximize fat loss....Well the past few days Im drinking Green Tea right when I get up, and before I head to the gym...Am I defeating the purpose here by drinking something before I work out...even though I want to maximize fat loss?

I will say no... Any small amount of carbs that you injest from the tea will easily be burned in the first 5-10 minutes of cardio. And the Caffine you inject will only aid in speeding up your metabolism. Thus causing you to burn even more.
