  • home gym ?

im gettin a smith rack and leg press in my garage along with alot of other stuff but i was thinkin the 5% slope your garage has for water, will it mess with my lifts if i put the equipment from left to right (one side will be slightly higher) do you think ill notice it?

It won't mess with the leg press cause your seat will be at the same angle and the effect of gravity on the weight on each leg will be the same because they are both at the same angle. I think the 5% is small enough that it won't matter. If you had a way to put the smith rack perpendicular to the grade, I would. I think the leg press won't matter at all.

I don't think it will be a huge deal. You could even put a small piece of plywood on the ground wehn you squat and shim that till its level for your feet. But I don't think it will be a huge difference.

Get a spirit level and sure things up (with something more secure than a block of wood) and if you can put the equipment from top to bottom instead of left and right.

Uneven benches are bad news and you'le end up tearing a muscle, also your machines, particularly a smith machine, won't last long if your using heavy poundages and its out of camber.

what is the depression grade on a 5% decline? how many inches would the floor drop say in 10 feet? I don't know the math on this, just thought someone could actually just calculate it. A contractor should be able to tell you that info.

Put the machines across the back wall. The floor there should be level from left to right. And your not going to notice it anyway.

as long as they are bigger than the pink weights you used to use.

Why not raise it up off the ground? You can build a platformish area to do your lifting It'll be easy to level that off. You can even build something that you can move if you ever need to...Thats what I would do:agree:
