  • A female workout

    can someone please write me up a female work out because my girlfriend is startin to work out with me and i dont want her geting big. So if anyone can write out a workout for her i would appreciate it. thank u.

    Muscles are muscles. Dosn't matter if they are in a male or female. Woman don't have the same hormones as men do, so they can't "get big" like men, without help.

      i understand but i dont want her doing the football workout i have. she just wants to lose fat and tone up.

        Just pick a couple exercises for each muscle group, do about 8-10 reps on a weight that is challanging but not to diffucult.

          Toning is a sales term, not a term used by fitness/weight gurus. being defined is a matter of low body fat. A good diet and cardio will give anyone that.

          As for a routine, 2 days a week doing a full body workout is fine. Just let her know it should be difficult. If she is struggling or sweating, she isn't pushing hard enough.

            Hi, let her try this program, it did work for me and for many of my friends here:

            Squat 2x12-10reps
            Incline d/b press 2x12-10reps
            Flat d/b flye 2x12-10reps
            Front lat pulldown 2x12-10reps
            SEated Row 2x12-10reps
            Seated D/b press 2x12-10reps
            Side lateral raise 2x12-10reps
            Pressdown 2x12-10reps
            Alt. d/b curls 2x12-10reps
            crunches 2x12-10reps

            ..of course let her warm-up first and have her a full body stretching..

            ..choose a weight that is appropriate for each exercise!!

              I would post this in the womens section of this forum. This ensure a females perspective. The "do what we do...they cant get big" approach will could discourage her from going. I would get RS and others advice...=)

              Like you said. It seems like she wouldnt enjoy cleans/jerks, deadlifts, etc.

              *Not that these guys responses are inherently wrong.

                do what 3/4 of the girls in my gym do:
                walk in and say hi to everyone you know, take as long as you need.
                then go do the ab machines, do a half-assed set and watch the b-ball players before and after.
                do the thigh abductor/adductor (sp?), do three reps at a joke of a weight, give a dirty look to the high school kid staring at you while your legs are spread apart.
                pick up a 2 lb. dumbell, swing 'em around once or twice
                walk around and give dirty looks until two or more cardio machines free up that are next to eachother. set to .3 miles/hour and talk the entire time.
                pat yourself on the back, you've done a (mouth) workout!

                ok, so i know this is off topic, and there are some national level bodybuilding women at my gym who are huge, who are much bigger than me, but this seriously applies to 3/4 of the girls, and 1/2 of the rest of the guys at my gym. it's a joke... ...end rant...
