Changing my leg routine and was wondering if I were to do about six sets of squats and six sets lying leg curls, if that would be effective enough?

That's what seperates those with good legs and those without. All about how much pain you can tolerate. Make sure you're breathing correctly, that pain in your head is a bad sign and I was getting it there for a while back. You'd be better off doings squats and deads if you're only looking to do two exercises.Originally posted by rowdy26
What I'm wanting is a solid, quick, and effective routine, so, I don't have to spend alot of time in the gym. Every time I do legs I get light headed and I can't continue cause my head hurts so damn bad.

That's pretty much the only way I do legs. I can't give sufficient effort to both quads and hams if I do them on the same day (or at least at the same time-morning and evening is possible), especially if I do squats and deadlifts. The only way I can do quads and hams in the same workout is if I don't do squats or deadlifts.Originally posted by rowdy26
What opinions are there on doing quads on one day and hams on another. I didn't think about doing it that way.
I agree with beefcake, legs take pushing yourself beyond the pain to really see results. I expect to feel nauseous and light-headed--if I don't I push myself harder.

Like addict said, I can't do quads and hams on the same day. I do quads on friday and then hams on sunday with calves. Here's my post on the pain in the head.Originally posted by rowdy26

Yeah, my head hurts like that only when I do heavy squats, but after reading that post it might be my breathing because I know when I do heavy weights all I'm thinking about is getting the weight back up, not paying any attention to my breathing.
