ok i guess i geneticly have a small chest, but i have been working hard to build it up as much as i can. i just cant seem to really build size, i dont usually do a barbell bench because i have a bad shoulder so i do alot with dumbells. can anyone give me some ideas about something i could do, like maybe workout my chest more or less, right now im working it out once a week and i guess what im doing isnt working too well. any ideas would be awesome

    thanks alot

What's your chest routine look like? Watcha diet look like? Once a week is good enough for chest. Answer these questions so we can see what's not making things happen.

i've seen many people do chest exercises with the cable machines

standing in between them and pulling both the cables across the front of your body...i never do that and i dont know what it's called but i'm sure someone here would

do you have access to hammer strength machines? what exactly is wrong with your shoulder? is it chronic or do you think it would go away at some point with treatment?

you know i never went to a doctor about it because it only hurts when i lift, i didnt think it was a good enough reason to go to the doctors but its been bothering me lately and im not sure whats wrong with it, sometimes when i work it out i feel this weird kind of pressure that hurts alot if i move it a certain way. maybe it is time to pay a visit to the doctor

actually that is good news. I gurantee it is probably from over use. I would take a few weeks off and let me know how it feels. Some changes in your volume and gym movements would probably keep the pain away.

My chest has always been my weakest muscle group. I noticed that when I work chest, I would rarely get a good pump. I figured it was a form issue, so I started adjusting my form ... hands wider / hands closer, elbows out / elbows in, etc. I found that keeping my shoulders back and blades squeezed together hit the chest muscles the best.

                      good luck.

well I guess you could throw a couple leg workouts in there. Just keep the shoulders rested. Keep the hurt one iced for a few days.

this is quite a debatable subject, but you could eliminate flat bench forever. the main muscles used during flat bench are the shoulders and tri's, with chest comin in third.
if you get shoulder pain from flat bench than by all means, eliminate it and stick to your: incline, decline, db flies and dips for your main mass builders

forgot to mention, it's most likely your food intake, if you have a half-decent routine you'll gain no matter what as long as you, eat, eat, EAT
