I am a huge fan of hitting the traps via the standing calve raise machine. Simply place your feet square on the foot rest and use your shoulders to thrust the weight upward. This way you exhaust your shoulders and traps before killing your forearms.

True, but I like to give my grip a good workout since I don't directly train it.
