  • Recovery from overtraining

I'm an old codger, just turned 60 and been at this since 1959 and just decided to max out on a couple of movements a couple of months ago,
something I hadn't done in years. Anyway, I surprised myself on chest day
and again the next day working back and didn't feel like getting out of bed the third day. It's been 2 months now and I still do cardio 5-6 days per week
and work out either 1 body part per day for 5 days in a row or work 3 on, 1 off, 2 on 1 off alternating pushing, pulling and legs. My question is, how long is it likely to be before I feel strong again? I am using a lot less weight since those 2 days of maxing out. Any ideas?

take 3days to a week off from the gym when you come back you should have your strength back, thats if you didnt take a break in the 2 months,if you didnt your due for one.

imo maxing is more harm than its worth....take time off and never do it again...
