  • Music affect your workouts?

I was just woundering how many of you out there have big improvements or even maybe less improvements by the type of music you listen to while working out? Well if i put on a Slayer or Sepultura CD at my gym, i fuckin go crazy in the gym. Not literally but i notice i get more adrenaline rush and stuff you know? Like i get mad and lift more and get more reps with heavier weight than i would if i was listening to like country music or something. Oh and the older people love it! haha... NOT!

Music to me is very important to work out too, it's got to get me going then I lift good. If I run out of batteries and have to listen to country, I have a really crappy workout.

      drives me crazy.

Music doesn't really help me that much. But it does help me rest less in between sets and for cardio and situps it's good. During the workout itself, not much difference.

:agree: There's usually a top40 station playing where I work out - can't stand that stuff. I aim for 1 minute between sets, so I only focus on my breathing and on the next set and tune everything else out.

                      Ditto...I tune most everything out.

I tend to visualise each set while i'm resting between sets...so outside interruptions don't exist for me.

Music can be a mood enhancer while doing cardio tho...but not spectacularly so

i listen to a workout mix i've made and it jacks me right up, of course, i occasionally catch a glimpse of my face in the mirror and i look like i'm going to kill someone, combined it helps keep people who want to talk to me away.

on really good days, i play the haka on repeat...

I bought one of those ipod minis ans it was one of the best things i ever did foe my workout. 1) It stops people from talking to you (you know the guy who asks you how much you bench) and 2) it really get me going. I listen to mostly hip hop music but you have to pick some that makes you feel like you want to fight. I like linkin park too that will get you going. Definiteli invest in a mp3 player.
