Dude, I have some friends who are in the Coast Guard as well as the Navy, Air Force, Army and the Marines. Any of them will tell you that it doesn't matter what kind of shape you're in, the object of boot camp is to push you to your limit (wherever that may be) and then push you past it. There isn't a general standard that everyone must meet, the standard depends on the individual. I'm not trying to discourage you from training, but I wouldn't sweat it. You'll be in tip top shape after boot camp...guaranteed. Good luck.

weight yourself down and run in a pool, put a heavy backpack on and run. Maybe see what is standard amount of weight for the equipment you typically wear. Also since it's coast guard I would also focus on swimming and in water with a current.

i'd do alot of high intensity sprinting drills.....anything that will get your heart rate flying

i personally like sprinting 30 seconds then walking it off for 30 once then sprint 30 seconds and walk it off for 60 seconds....and repeat 6 times, this gets my heart pounding good...i just started doing this so eventually i will build up more

for a while i was just sprinting 60 yards and then waiting till i got all my wind back and repeating that 10 to 12 times...now i dont wait on my wind

in boot camp they're not gonna let you catch your breath and they're gonna keep pushing you so you wanna make sure your prepared for that

once you get used to the high intensity cardio its not so horrible.....when you first start your chest/throat will burn, might get a headache...that happened to me but it was gone after the first 3 or 4 nights
