hey guys not sure this is in the right area, but i was wondering if anyone knew of any bodybuilders that have made it back after a pec tear, i know some of the profs have, but i'm wondering about normal everyday bodybuilders, the ones that do not have access to the best surgeons and massage therapists and on and on, i know that pec tears are not that common but i know of 5 guys from around my area over the last 7 years, some never got them fixed and never touched a weight again, some never got them fixed and tried to work around the injury, i just never see anyone on here posting with that type of injuy
    thanks in advance

I partially tore mine about two years ago. If it's completely torn, you'll need surgery. A partial tear will keep you from training chest for at least a year. I still have to be careful with mine. It's a really shitty injury. The best way to avoid it is to not get a stretch on your heavy pressing movements. Depending on how big your chest is and how long your arms are it could be a bad idea to lower the bar (or dumbells) to your chest. I know some guys will tell you that you have to lower the bar to your chest and get a full ROM, but trust me, if you feel that stretch at the bottom it could mean trouble. I tore mine using that damn hammer strength wide chest machine with 4 plates on each side, I'd love to go back in time and not do that....

really depends on how bad the tear is.
