  • Cramps in my forearms after workout...

I've been noticing cramps in my forearms after I do bicep or tricep workouts and I think maybe it's from not warming up enough or streching enough but I get these cramp pains on the underside of my forearm where my bone is and it hurts like hell the next day also. I can hardly pick up heavy stuff or squeez a pair of cable cutters at work from the cramp pain. This only really started happening recently as I've been lifting alot more weight at the gym. The pain starts to set in when I do biceps with dumbells and when I do triceps with skull crushers.

yes. I just recently ended a cycle using Deca and I've never had this kind of problem when I was taking deca so maybe that has something to do with it. I just got back from the gym and I did front and rear deltoids tonight and now I got cramps in different spots.. In my elbo on the front side of my arm and near my wrists. My arms are shaking right now trying to type.

    This is weird!!

Right now... I'm on cypionate/400mg a week and I don't start my deca until next Saturday which will be 400mg a week also. I did my first shot of the cyp last Tuesday. Then of course I'm taking multi-vits, flaxseed, milkthistle, b12, and estro-block.

I just thought about this... A buddy of mine told me he got cramps like this after getting off creatine. I just stop taking creatine so maybe thats a possibility?

Does the muscle twitch when it cramps up?

No, the muscle doesn't twich. Heres a pic of my arm.. The blue line is the edge of my bone doing up my arm and the red line is where the cramp pain is. The cramp is just in the general area of the red line.

Try keeping your wrists in the neutral position when doing arm exercises. Having your wrists in either the flexed or extended positions will strain your forearms.

Yeah, I do have that problem with my wrists every now and then and I got some gloves with wrists support for that reason too. My arms felt fine this morning but me and my little brother were wrestling earlier and I picked him up and now my whole freakin arm hurts with that cramp pain. I think I just need some time off from the gym. I'm taking today and probably tomorrow off or if I do go I'll just do legs.

I get pain right there when I do barbell curls, which is why I have to stick to dumbells now. I think there's a tendon that runs along there....

yeah I'm the same way. I used to use the curl bar they have at the gym for the longest time but now that I've increased the weight so much, I do dumbells which to me is better because I can focus on each arm more instead of both at the same time.

Control / 1badMF ... Forearm pain during arm exercises is very common. Proper form alleviates the pain in most cases.

Yeah form is the key I agree and something that I need to work on more in some exercises. I didn't go to the gym for two days now and today im going to go later this afternoon and do legs and back.

Another question I have is this. Why does my left arm seem bigger than my right and I notice more veins popping out of my left arm as well. The only thing thats bugging me is that my right arm is a little bit stronger than my left but I got them now to where my left arms strength is pretty much the same as my left. I think I also might be looking at myself too hard every day because everyone at my house can't tell the difference but I can.

Same thing ... form. For this, focus on your shoulder and elbow positions. If one arm is weaker than the other, than you'll tend to cheat by either pulling one shoulder forward or letting one elbow swing forward.
