  • High Intensity Cardio....how long?

    Been reading about high intensity cardio for maximum fat loss but no where can I find how many minutes total should be done. Anyone know....

        I like about 20 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes. If it dosn't wear you out by then, it's not intense enough.

          Thanks, 20 mins of solid high intensity cardio sounds alot better than 45 mins of boring low intensity.

              For PWO I do 10 minutes just to get some extra calories (hopefully from fat) burned after my glycogen is depleted. But I wouldn't do anymore because you are already pushing the limits of catabolism. Again, this works well for me, but others don't always like the idea.

                do some high intensity interval training....1 minute light/1minute all out...start with 10 minutes and work your way up...its my favorite method because you don't need much for the maximum affect.

                  I love this training also, but when I started out I had to do 30sec hard 45 sec light. Couldn't go for a whole minute hard more than a few times.

                    true...that is what I shot for but like you said...sometimes I didn't make it...but its a great way to keep track of progress because you can feel yourself get used to the exertion.
