you shouldn't need a separate day for bi's and tri's...thrown in 2-3 (maximum) perfect sets at the end of back (bi's) and chest day (tri's) and then you can have an extra days rest in the week. rest is just as if not more important than working out.

i do. i used to have an "arm day" and did both bi's and triceps in the same day. now i do them separate and have seen better results.

i think you give "resting" a little to much credit bro. sure, it is very important. but it can be taken to far. great body's are built by hard work, not sitting on the sofa.

do you have a sepecific day for just triceps and then one for biceps?

and you are right rest can be taken to far but given the science on recovery every other day workouts should be the MINIMUM volume for every trainer. I don't care who you are, its physically/hormonally impossible to not create a defecit in your recovery if you do consecutive workouts after your "novice" (first six months of training) is done. and obviously we are all well into our training careers.

yes i have a separate day for triceps and then a day for biceps.

as far as recovery with consecutive workouts. explain why myself and many others that train 6 days a week continue to see results? according to you i should be seeing the opposite results.

if i train every other day, my muscles tend to flatten out and get softer. and slowly but surely i get smaller over the course of a few months.

i have experimented with many different training styles. for me, it seems the more i train, the better the results. we are all different bro.

i know its like pulling teeth talking about rest with most people , :)...but a few of the reasons you feel flat when training less is because the "pump" and the swelling associated with the damage with inflict with training is not consistantly there to remind us about working out but my contention is that it has nothing to do with sucessful training. but I would say that is a good thing. basically I believe it to be a false state of sucess. if I want to feel a pump I can do 20 pushups and a few free standing squats. I don't know maybe its just a personality difference in how we want to feel 24 hours a day.

and as far as seeing results...results are an ambigious term. what results mean to me and what that mean to other people is different. training in a hormone deficit doesn't mean you will regress in weight or muscle necessarily. it means you aren't maximizing the potential. but again changing peoples training style is like changing religions :D

we can talk in circles all day bro. i don't mean the feeling of a pump and let me be clear on what i mean by results. in the last 4 months my bf% has dropped by 2% and i have gained 12lbs.

don't talk to me about personality differences and how i want to feel. don't talk to me about how changing a training style is like changing a religion.

i do what works. i have experimented with all kinds of different ways of training. i am not afraid to change, i have done so, many times.

i think the issue here is you being so sure what your doing is correct that you are not willing to listen to a different idea about training. could it be that maybe.. just maybe that people are different and what works for me does not work for you and vice versa?

I agree. SC can probably maintain what he has by working out 1-2 times per week like he does because he is on juice year round. I'm natural, and if I don't hit the gym at least 4 days per week I start losing it fast. SC would probably be a beast if he worked out as hard as I do.

i don't know if he would or not. my point is just that genetics play a huge roll. maybe his body gets over trained and starts breaking down muscle if he works out more then a few days a week. i am different then him. i know this by trial and error. my body responds well to a large amount of weight training. if stone trained like me, he may very well become over trained and get smaller.
