  • Leg day and two questions

So, my leg day is kinda weird. Let me know what you think:

I isolations first, then complex movements.

    Leg ext: 12, 10, 8, 6
    Leg Curl: 12, 10, 8, 6
    Leg Press: 10,10,8
    Hack Squat: 10,10,10
    Squat: 12,10,8
    Calves: 12,10,8

How bad is it if I am light headed at the end if I have worked rather intensely.

Do you switch it up? (Hamstrings first one week - then quads first the second week etc)

Is that the order you do the exercises in?? Not sure i understand. i would defiantly be doing squats and presses before extensions and curls.

And as far as feeling dizzy. Very common. Yesterday I was doing shoulders and as I was walking out of the gym I had to really focus to see. Everything was blurry for a bout a minute or so. But after certain leg movements are definitely the worst.

i like to throw in some extensions and curls before heavy movements every once in awhile myself. chadd, you should try it bro. burn the shit out of your legs with some extensions and then go right to squats. the pump is insane. i do this about once a month to switch it up. i wouldn't do it for every workout though.

and yes newbiechris, i feel like i am going to pass out after leg workout. i have to do them today actually.

I have done this before but not in a while. I'm sure it is good to mix it up I just tend to stick with the heavier movements first. I'll have to try it next week just to change it up and shock the muscle. For me it would be something I would throw in once a month. I couldn’t see myself using that routine for multiple weeks at a time.

I have just started eating more on leg days simply because I tend to lose half my meals after an intense session - it sucks to think I paid for food I'm not going to use though...

Like Bouncer said, you can throw isolations in before squats every once in a while, but I wouldn't make that permanent. Squats are a very technical lift and if you're not 100%, you could hurt yourself. You really have to know what you're doing for this to work. I think that isolations before heavy lifts should be left to very advanced bodybuilders. I do 1 min wall sits after squats. That's a trip when your legs start shaking after 15 seconds. It's great for your knees though.

if you work legs hard enough they can make you vomit. if your getting results with your workout stick with it.

Okay, I've been doing this routine for 7 weeks exactly. I guess per everyones advice I'll switch it up and go back to my normal routine.
