  • Guess where I'm training on saturday?

Dorian Yates' Temple Gym in Birmingham!

Yeeesus, I was working over that way today and just had to pop in to see.

    LOL I was pretty shocked!

You have to walk up this cobble alley that looks like something out of a batman movie, the kind of place they always do the 'guy getting beaten up ina an alleyway with some gut punches' scene. You have to shimmy between the cars illegally parked and the over filled wheelie bins, over rotten food and sharps can lids. The gym entrance is not at street front its at the back like a fire door entrance, no glass.

Opposide the entrance is the back door to a third grade bar where all the old men spend their social money.

So you walk down these creaky wooden steps, into the gym and it smells kinda like the stairwell in a run down public multi storey car park LOL

Dampness is the best smell in their!, and its a pit, 2,000 sq ft at most, reception desk with a few cnp products behind.

THE GYM itself is the epitomy of spit and sawdust, the dumbells go up to 120kg (about 265lb), the calf hack has 1000lb just on the stack, the back row machines look scrappy but when you feel them there's alot more than meets the eye, they are designed to keep constant tension, much better than the average hammer equip these are specially made.

The legs room was supprisingly void of an angles hamstring curl, just a soft padded flat version and a hammer strength seated one like a leg extension but in reverse if you know what I mean. I felt the leg press slide and it was completely rigidl but perfectly smooth if you know what I mean.

BUt the walls had everyone on them, I mean all the monsters and greats with signitures and words of kind regard and theres pictures of local charity events that Dorian gets involoved in for the underprivelaged and disabled.

and thats about it, there was a rogue heavy bag there otherwise just looked likem any small GYM, completely bodybuilding orientated, NO cardio at all LOL

I can't wait for saturday, its a two hour drive but I don't care, my lady can go shopping while I train.

Didn't see Dorian BTW nor did I ask

And guess what else, I'm parking up and get talking to a guy while walking and he's a music producer for rap artists, after complementing my physique he asked me if I'd be in a music video for this new talent he's promoting, apparently he's got all the hot chicks he needs.

I laughed inside and said 'mate, why don't you go have a look in Temple Gym where I'm going, there will be better guys in there and they live round here.' he asked again if I was interested and I said no.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't a fag but I don't really like rap, I can't dance for shit and I'm not sure my lady would appreciate watching me on MTV doing bump and grind or what ever they do LOL

    Its nice to be appreciated
