  • Getting an MRI next week...

I finally went to the doctor to get the knot in my upper quad checked out after noticing it a few months a go. I was hoping for her to just look at it and tell me its nothing, just to massage it and it would come out, but she seemed a little more concerned then that. I'm getting the MRI next week and she gave me 3 likely possibilities.

    1. It is a muscle tear that I apparently went through last year that has slowly retracted up my leg. So this means surgery.

    2. It is a fatty tumor that is harmless and won't need to be removed.

    3. It is a solid tumor and I will need to get it removed.

She says that it is most likely a torn muscle that has retracted over time. Sucks ass but I go for my MRI on the 28th I'll keep everyone posted.

You have never injected anything right?

As far as a muscle tear that was actually bad enough to roll up. That would have caused severe pain a dark bruise/bleeding under the skin. If you never experienced that, I doubt it is a tear.

    Could be a cyst.

Nah Ive never injected anything so I'm good there. I never experienced the bruising but I did hurt my quad last year playing football. I thought I just pulled it though. The only reason she thinks it might be a muscle tear is because there is a slight indention right below it, where it feels like muscle is missing. We'll see, I guess there is no point in making assumptions now.

If the injury in football was right where the bump is, then ya that is probably the issue.

Ya but I'm still rootin for the fatty tumor or the cyst. Anything but the solid tumor, that would ruin my day.

lol, if the injury from football was on that spot and the lump has been there ever since, thats what it is.
