I have been having such lactic acid build up that all my workouts have been cut short. then retard me remembered a nice supplement called BETA-K. prevents lactic acid build up and it really works. I pounded a few grams last night and before my workout this morning. I hit a perfect leg press of 500 pounds for 1:24 TUT. slow reps. then did one legged smith lunges at 120 each leg. my glutes are sore as hell. so that is definetly a good sign that I pushed those sets well. finished with some Stiff legged deads, adduction, abduction and toe push for calves. but for anyone who gets that nauseated sick feeling BETA-K (and whatever the active ingredient is I think Beta-Alanine or something liek that). use it. works great to stave off running pains and if you do intense lifting.

its more post set nausea. but yeah basically i would get sick to my stomach and couldnt put any real effort into the remaining setsOriginally posted by THE BOUNCER View PostHey stone, when you say lactic acid build up. Do you mean your muscle were burning so much that you couldn't workout or what? Cramping?

its a side of lactic acid build up. most of us associate the burning and possible cramping to it but it can also put your body into the mode I go in where after the set your body can't clear it and you get that sick feeling (its also why some of us puke on leg day, same cause).Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postany idea what causes that? dehydration, not enough calories etc.. ?

Wow someone else has that feeling besides me. I have very hard intense routines and sometimes towards the end I start getting really sick. I thought it was dehydration but i drink water alot before gym and during, then thought not enough carbs, and Now i know. Thanks. beta-k

Pukie is your bodies natural response to more than lactic acid buildup. Your endocrine and autocrine systems release insane amounts of various eichasanoids and hormones, esp during heavy compound days ... aka leg days.
Have you considered supplementing with some HIIT training to push yourself into that "pukie" zone more often and to help your body adapt to it?

I just take my beta-k and it takes care of that, lol. I don't know what HIIT is (I used to konw what HIT is, is it a rip on that?).Originally posted by Nekrawulf View PostPukie is your bodies natural response to more than lactic acid buildup. yeah its called beta alanine. mostly I have gotten sick is because I am out of "Anaerobic" shape. I had to take a lot of time off from my legs because of knee injury. but I am getting back slowly. I will be adding in short rest sets and more intensity vairables soon to get that tolerance back up.Originally posted by Mr incredible View PostI used to be sick 8 times out of 10 training legs, once I'd built a good foundation I just learned to train more intense and less phsyco. So can I just walk in to a supps shop for that stuff
