  • is this enough cardio for cutting?

Mornings i wake up do 20mins on the eliptical heart rate about 150 on level like 5 nothing to high.

after workouts i do 30-40 mins on the treadmill 4mph speed walk on a 15% incline to get my legs and calfs more cut up.

occassionally ill do some intervals while doing the treadmill but trying to do more cardio lower intensity in order to keep muscle mass while cutting.

150 seems a little high on the heart rate for the elliptical. if you arent doing intervals than i think you should be down near 130 or lower if im not mistaken...

I like to keep my heart rate at like 160 on the elliptical to help with my poor endurance. For fat burning you are best keeping your heart rate around 130-140 for appx. 40-50 minutes. You will burn more fat than if you keep your heart rate hight for a shorter amount of time.

Coming into a show my AM cardio would consist of a heartrate of about 110 or 115 and my afternoon/evening cardio "might" get up to 125 - nothing more and rarely nothing less - everyone is different but 150 first thing in the morning is asking for a catabolic state IMO...

It's too high for *me* but you'll have to play with what works for you - the only problem with that is that it takes time to figure these things out - good luck...
