I think I will try the slow heavy reps to see what happens.
right now I go heavy (for me at least) but I dont go realy slow. How slow do you guys go? I guess how many seconds does it take to do a full rep?
I also notice I get lactic acid build up and have to stop before my calfs give out. Im tryin a new sup that is suposed to help with that( beta alanine)
the calve machine at the gym only goes up to 320. So I add 6-45 pound plates on top of that, which equals to around 590. I do them slow with a tempo around 2-0-2.

But my families genetics suck big time. Mostly on my dads side of the family. Thats why I gotta work hard hard hard to get them to grow.

I know several of those people who have huge calves and other body parts small.

I also tried this routine for a while and didnt seem to get results. I admit, they killed my calves and the pain ahh, no growth though.

I used to do that before not train them much. I guess I was too lazy but said to myself "I need to balance everything out".

Genetically I'm not sure I have many glaring flaws - even before I had ever seen a gym or when I quit working out for a few years nothing was really that bad - I think what I'm lacking on now just takes time to fully develop. The kind of hamstrings I want the back width/thickness I desire most likely just come with time - I don't see myself ever being set back by them if I keep competing...

Hope that doesn't sound arrogant either btw - maybe some can relate????

I've always had strong legs, hips, and lower back so I can blow away squats and deads...more so than almost anyone at the gym. Yet my bench is so bitch it's sad. Part of that is height and leverage I suppose (I'm pushing 6'2") and the fact that I have long monkey arms. You can put me in the calves list too.

My legs (calves + ham + quads) have always been big since I gained weight when I was younger. Midsection is the hardest part of my body to get anywhere in terms of shape. I can basically see most of my forearm muscles and upper arm. Definition in the legs, you can tell there are three separate muscles there if I flex. But you wouldn't know there are muscles on my stomach. My back sucks as well.
