  • random cramping...

so i've been running on a regular basis, about 3-4 times a week but the most random thing happens. i'll be sitting and out of nowhere, the muscle in my right foot cramps up really tight. this has happened to my right calf muscle too. it's this tight sensation followed by heat.

i can usually massage it out for a good 15 minutes but it feels like i pulled it the wrong way. i've been stretching before and after running so i don't know wtf is going on. help?

(i've heard potassium helps with muscle injuries, but i am not too sure about that)

Potassium normally does very little for cramps. Try magnesium tabs prior each workout and two-three grams l-taurine in your post workout shake.

      water.
could be something as simple as not taking in enough water

I would say water, make sure you're drinking plenty of it

Hey I don't know if you've thought of this yet, but maybe you should drink more water? I'm glad I'm here you won't learn anything from these other asswipes. And to think the answer was so simple! Water!

nope. i increased the water intake and i did something else. i got these weird socks that really hug around the arch of my foot. i have a feeling that since i started to wear those while working out they helped.

as for the calf cramping, i haven't had any cramps there either. i'll keep you posted next time it happens, which hopefully will be never. thanks for checking up. :)

Your not dehydrating yourself are you? Be sure your drinking plent of fluids and replacing need electrolytes.
