  • Can you do too much cardio?

This may be a ridiculous question but i was just wondering, can you do too much cardio?I understand that if you do alot of cardio, you risk your body using muscle for energy so its not ideal for bodybuilding, but for someone just trying to cut up for the summer,is doing 6 days of cardio for maybe an hour a day excessive?i appreciate any thoughts

There's not really one answer to that. It's dependent on goals and other factors. If you are strictly talking about cutting and you aren't concerned about loosing some muscle then I would say it would be very hard to do too much cardio. I would classify too much cardio in the over training category.

if your goal is bodybuilding, yes you can. endurance athlete, yes you can but 1 hour a day is not to much for endurance athelete.

depends if your hitting weights as well then you run the risk of having an over training injury i just found out the hard way legs twice a week mixed with 30-45 min of cardio can do that to you.

That is a very open question. Wish we had more feedback form OP.

Even endurance athletes have been turning to high intensity, short duration workouts as a means to increase work capacity, as it is overall less taxing, and often more beneficial to the means.

Research HIIT, Gym Jones, and CrossFit to name a few.

1 hour a day is fine for cutting up, much over 1 hour at a time is too much IMO
