  • Almost passed out twice on the way home from doing legs.

Saw a dark gray tunnel twice. Kinda scary driving home.

From leg presses to hack squats to ham extensions to quad extensions to calfs without a break in between all deep sets will do that to ya. :P

I had that happen ones after playing basketball for like 3 hours. It felt like I was hammared and I had to pull over for a few minutes.

Wuss...I've had issues driving home after leg days before, but it was with holding down the clutch and my leg was unstable.

So, this is a serious question. What would have caused that? Lack of oxygen to the brain, I'm guessing, but why after an intense workout? Something with a similar effect to heat stroke?

It's trauma to a certain part of the body where the body tries to fix it. It's basically fainting because not enough blood is being moved to the brain.

So, your body directs so much blood to that part of the body to begin recovery, there isn't enough to go around between that and the brain and other muscles being used.

Basically. There is only so much blood in your body for immediate use. Any pump you get to your muscles are extra blood being moved there. When you see or hear about those people that faint when standing at attention (although it's gravity in those cases) the blood is pooling to the bottom of the body and not enough gets to the brain.

I had that dark tunnel thing happen to me after a workout in the desert. We did max pullups then 40 yard sprint walk back and repeat about 10 times. It was very scary I went completely dark like I was blind for about 20 seconds. I couldnt image driving when that happens.
