      I think there is nothing wrong with it depending on your goals. However, don't get caught up in the "functional strength" vs no functional (weight room) strength stuff all strength is functional. The only thing more functional than a 600 lb dead lift is a 700 lb dead lift.

        I think this type of training is required in any "complete" fitness protocol and program.

        What good if your level of fitness, if not applicable to real life situations. This is the importance of true "functional" training.

        My industry as a whole uses this buzzword too loosely, and it pisses me off to know end to watch some of my trainers (I am an assistance department head of a 25 million dollar training facility) do their own variation of "functional" training.

            I always thought that if that kind of training really worked for bb'ing every construction worker would look like Ronnie Coleman Ha Ha. I believe it has a purpose but not if bb'ing is your area
