  • close grip presses

I really enjoy doing close grip presses for triceps but I'm a little confused on where to grip the bar. I have heard that your hands should be about 6 inches apart but it feels a bit too close and I feel like the bar is hard to balance.I currently hold the bar with my hands about 14 inches apart. Is that too far apart? I'm just afraid of using my chest more than my triceps.I did triceps yesterday and I could feel the burn in the chest too but mostly my triceps. My triceps were pumped at the end of my entire workout not my chest so I'm thinking I did it right :).

I think 6" is to close also! 14" sounds about right, But i think its more to do with the elbows and the way you move the weight. keep them in by your side and you will be good.

Agree Rocket, and remember alot of it is where you put the mind, focus on using your triceps to push the weight out
