I have been pushing the weights pretty hard of late, increasing the weights to where I do only 5-6 reps. This has resulted in a significant increase in strength and size (by my standards) but my joints are a bit sore and I am afraid I will hurt myself sooner or later.
What's the best way to give the joints some time to recover? Keep the same schedule and back off on the weights and increase reps? Take a week or two off completely? I am very disciplined with my diet, so I'm not too worried on that front. I just don't want to lose any strength or size if possible.
