  • Lowering weights used...

Recently while bulking up, my strength increased. I beganto realize I was becoming more concerned with lifting weights rather than building muscle. This week, I lowered the weights on my lifts about 10%, approximately down to the weight I started at before bulking. I really concentrated on feeling each lift and contracting the muscle. I haven't been this sore in weeks. Sometimes it is good to get back to the basics.

Sometimes, we need to be reminded we are not lifting weights, we are building our bodies (for those who are not powerlifting). There is no need to throw around more weight when less can actually be more. I forgot how much I love this sore feeling in my muscles.

I did this today with chest and shoulders. Shit strained me like no other.

Low weights with strict form. God damn, already sore and tired.

With having longer arms I always debate this issue should I use a bit more momentum to get the weight moving or should I go lighter and really slow and deliberate movements? What I found that works best for me is the first 2 sets of an exercises I do this for 10 reps, then I jump up to a heavier weight and go for 8 reps for example

            DB Incline

            85x 10
            90x 10
            110x8
