Can a Sauna Help Me Lose Weight?

I mean, can they seriously think people buy into this crap??? That you can SIT DOWN and burn calories?

All a sauna does is suck the water out of your skin?!?? WTF?!?!

i wonder though. increased heat would theoretically cause more calorie burning then say room temp.

Not as much as decreased heat would. It's probably not worth it, just go jogging in the cold.

The simple answer is yes, the sauna can help you lose weight. So can vomiting, chopping off a limb, etc

Ya the simple anwser I agree!

All my friends use it to cut weight before fights. But as we all know it goes right back on them after they drink and eat/hydrate

im not talking about water loss. i am talking about the heat actualy speeding up the calorie burning process as opposed to sitting at room temp.

The first link says cold burns more. The second says heat does. I love science

I rather work hard to burn off my calories. Sitting in a sauna raises your body temperature, so your body has to work the sweat glands to bring your core temperature back down.

On top of all that you're losing water and electrolytes. Having another meal would bring all that to normal.

In my Nutrition book, I remember reading that your body burns more calories in the cold. When you shiver, you're actually burning a lot of calories.

it's good before a weigh in - that's it, you go right back up affter - I've done the sauna suits b4 and sure, I've gone down 8-10lbs sweating away. Weighed in, drank some water, ate some food, right back up - I wasn't looking for FAT loss, simply trying to make a cut at the time.

edit - if you want just wear like 3-4 heavy duty garbage bags and go do your runs and lifts lmao, my old boxing coach swore by it - no way i go around in that shit.
