  • squats and deads

    I usually start my work out with a warm up and lead right into my squats or deads depending on whther its back or leg day of course...just wondering if I should switch it up at all...because iv been running this routine for a while now... is it good or bad to hit squats and deads on every leg and back day? Thought? Comments?

    Thanks

    I hit them on every back or leg day some say you should only do deads every other week. I train for power now so if you are BBing you may not want to every week. I do alternate what I do first. One workout I will warm up and do deads first the next time I will warm up and do chins, rows ect first then deads same with leg day.

        Thanks for the response rado but I think u misread or I might have been unclear... I do my deads on back day and squats on leg day my split is 2 on 1 off... first day back 2nd chest 3rd cardio and abs 4th legs 5th arms 6th cardio abs...just wondering if its good to be doing heavy squats on leg day and heavy deads on back days every week.

        Also been wondering about a routine where I'm I'm one day on one day off (my off days are cardio and abs)
        So it would be like;

        Day 1 back
        Day 2 off (cardio abs)
        Day3 chest
        Day 4 off
        And so on...

        Any thoughts? Thanks guys

          I do deads every other week or every 3rd week. Like Rado said, it drains you, and i need energy to stay awake and study, lol.

            No two workots of mine are the same but back when I was competing I used to have seperate day for the back thickness and hams which included heavy deadlifts and heavy bentover rows and stuff.

              Is it a good idea to do abs on off days, you hitting them already with the squats and deadlifts and all?

                I don't necessarily do ab's per say. But, I do do core exercises several times a week especially on squat and dead lift days.

                  Yeah me too. I do ab pulldowns and pullups and SLDLs and hypers. Do get the feeling sometimes that the lower back work is a bit much.
