Did the 120lbs DB for 8 solid reps on incline bench; pressing exercises have always been a battle for me and to get into the 100's really made my day; I did the 110's like nothing for 10 reps and new it was gonna be that day. Had to tell some people that actually appreciate it.

I remember when I first started going to the gym looking at 100 pounders and thinking someday I will get them; Then I went over and did the 45lbs for reps. 4 years this April.

            Alright Konitz :clapback:

I have the same problem, i can't press for shit. So embarrassing. Highest I got was 90lb DBs, now i am back to 75lbs, pisses me off so much. Same goes for DB shoulder press :(

However my back strength compensates for it :)

Same here my back is powerful, but my chest is always lacking; best thing I can tell you for advice is over exaggerate your movements. Instead of pressing the weights up concentrate on your chest muscle contracting and pulling your arms in. Also, fly's have really helped push my pressing power. I don't train for strength but since I always was bad at pressing exercises I kind of made the exception for incline bench.

Yea those are good points. I have also focused on going light but as many reps as I can.

Few weeks ago i did 4 sets of flat benchpress.

                  1st set: 135lbs for 13 reps
                  2nd set: 135lbs for 12 reps
                  3rd set: 135lbs for 11reps
4th set: 135lbs for 15reps (last one was forced thanks to my spotter)

It worked nicely because after i did my sets of shoulders and triceps, I was struggling to put up 60lb DB incline press.

Love doing fly's, I have always stuck to incline DB fly's. I always feel the muscle's in my chest getting stretched, just a weird feeling. Feels like the fibers are getting stretched to the max and than contracting.

Next time you do fly's let your arms come down and back a little then come back up and forward so the weight end up centered over your chest; ou need to do this on a flat bench though; the compound movement seems to be helping build my upper middle chest.

Yea, i've done that before. The problem with having my arms drop a little back is I feel these knots in my chest and than a sudden sharp pain where my left rotator cuff is. I've injured it before, but it wasn't that serious. I'll try it again next week and I'll let you know how it goes.

Congrats man. I'm still fighting a shoulder injury but I grabbed the 115lbs dumbbells the other day for chest. Felt great. Weight went up easy but the next day I could tell I pushed myself too hard. I hate injuries!!!

Injury. I have a herniated disc in my lower spine and I can barely do anything lately without it bothering me.
