  • Guy from my gym just did a world record front squat.

This is Warrick Brandt. This is an un-official world record for a front squat. They are trying to make it official as we speak. Same squat rack i use lol. Not sure warricks weight but he is a big dude, probably around 6' and over 300lbs.

    Dang! Very impressive.

Usually on front squats I don’t go heavy. Very rare if I go over 225 lbs. I just don’t feel as secure as a normal squat to go heavier. And if I do I always feel my form suffers. Again, very impressive.

Why don't you do front squats? I don't do them every week but usually every other week I do. I don't do them on my heavy leg day.

I just switched over to doing front squats I feel like it hits my legs much more than regular squats which hit my lower back.

Front squats target your quads more than regular squats. Squats target more hams and also some lower back. That’s why I like to mix it up. If you feel that squats are targeting your lower back too much you may need to adjust your form.

i dont understand how its possible to hold to hold all that weight on your front delts, chest area.

i have seen power lifters squating shit loads of weight but not at the front like that.

Not sure you can spot someone doing a front squat. Good thing is if you have to dump the weight the risk of hurting yourself is a lot less then a regular squat.
