  • Forearms

Trained forearms this morning and I was blown away by this. I was curious if anyone has had this happen while on gear / or just naturally pump up this strong. I do barbell curls 4 sets x 20 then a reverse drop set - well I finish up and my hands / forearms were so pumped that I literally had to wait a few minutes before I could open my hands!! They were pumped into the grip around the bar, I've never experienced anything like it.

Also wondering how many of you guys bother with forearms (they get hit w/deads, bis - anything back hell ...) and what you find works for you ? My arms are weak spots for sure, I'm lanky frame and to fill in my arms is always a trouble. I wouldn't mind half so much but it's the same w/my calves - I've tried heavy + low reps / light + high reps - all sorts of things. Is this just living with the genetics I have or does anyone think I am over training / have thoughts on what to do. Thx bros.

My forearms get huge pumps as well; doesn't take a few minutes for my hand to release the grip but they do get a strange sticking feeling; I have long forearms and calf as well; 15 reps works great for my calfs and I just started the same for my arms this week; I focus on getting as big of a pump as possible. I make sure on curls i start with my arm perpendicular to the floor and curl till it is parallel the opposite for triceps exercises. My arms are 18.5 inches which I figure is respectable for their stubbornness.

Since I have leverage working against me for my bicep /tricep exercisses I drive forcefully with my exercises, hold for a second, then relax slowly.

If you have big hands with long fingers like me hold the bar with your hands facing towards you and relax your grip till the bar is about to slip out of your fingers then tighten your grip; never felt more a complete pump in my forearms then when I do that exercises.

Yea - that's very similar to what I'm doing - it's just the pump that I get now is absurd. Hopefully they'll start to grow with the rest of my body parts since the gear.
