So, ran 2.5 miles yesterday...and SWAM the distance of the swimming leg on race day today. I did take like 3 40 second rests, but I'm pretty excited with myself! Still have yet to actually go out on the street & ride- not sure what my deal is. Gotta get to it no later than this weekend so I can feel comfortable on the bike.

That all being said, I'm into my 3rd week, and I haven't lost any weight. True, I'm doing more carbs, but not that many. I'm pretty surprised I haven't lost any... :(

Well, I think I'm actually GAINING weight??? HOW in the F is that possible? I'm doing something different every week, increasing my cardio- yet I swear I've gained 2 lbs.

I went for a 20 mile bike ride on Saturday, and my traps were SMOKED the next day. My legs were fine, but my traps were killing. I'm going to swim tonight after work- I've really taken a liking to it. And then I'm going to try to do a mini-race this weekend...Do like 750 yd swim, 10 mile bike, 2 mile run- just to see where I'm at in the training.

I guess that's possible...but some of my clothes feel tighter...I am getting ready to start in a few days, but still. I mean, I think I look better, and people have commented that I look thinner. I guess its just hard for me to agree with that I'm gaining muscle when I haven't been doing weights but about twice a week.

And B- I eat clean Mon-Fri...Weekends not so much...Same as before. :agreed:

If you have been running/swimming/biking check your calf and thigh measurements (possibly your glutes as well). I'll guess they have probably increased in size despite you not working out. Once I started training all three, my lower body exploded.

I'll do that tonight...But is it realistic to think I would have put on 3 lbs of muscle- ~ clean ~ in 4 weeks???

Now, I will say that my ass seems smaller, and my legs seem leaner, and tummy flatter- but some pants are fitting differently/tighter?

Oh, and I have been dog tired this week, but I pushed through it yesterday. Went & did weights at lunch, and then after work did the 1000 yd swim- and only rested for 1 minute halfway!! WOOO HOOO...

                    Maybe I can do this?

Well, my assumption was correct- I have gained fat. Sonis seems to think that it's because my heart rate is too high.

I'm effing pissed. Seriously rethinking doing this triathlon at all. I am confused- how in the hell can I be doing something totally different to my body- training more than I ever have, and this happen?!? I don't see how training for a triathlon makes you gain weight. I think I just might go back to my previous cardio & weight training.

I did this to challenge myself & get my body over a hump. This is so disappointing.

Yeah, I agree...and it's not so much crap food- just partaking in a few beers on the weekend. I'm cleaning it up for the nest 4 weeks.

However, that being said- I got out my pinches from like a month ago to compare, and told sonis there is no way my ab pinch could have gone up 5 mm....so, he redid the pinches- turns out, my pinches were 1.25 mm LESS.

Yeah, sonis and are really starting to realize the importance of heart rate training. You can have all the endurance in the world, run 25 miles a week, and not lose weight.

I'm still trying to grasp the concept that even though I'm burning calories, I'm not losing weight...
