  • Cutting 10 lbs

Lately I have been hitting the gym a lot harder since I do not have another fight until September so I am trying to put some more muscle on, put I also need to cut about 10 lbs. The only way I have been able to lose the weight is my typically MMA way with running alot, hitting the sauna and cardio up the ass. The only bad downfall to this is my strength training goes out the window because I will usually go to low weights and high reps. Any suggestions on how to get down the weight. I have cut my calories but still eating every 2-3 hours.

Training for MMA is endurance - you will llose a lot of weight / muscle - if you are looking to preserve muscle - keep your carbs low >100 grams a day protein up (say you were at 1 gram per lb .. go to 1.5) keep the meats clean and DO NOT live off shakes.

Cardio on empty stomach AM always did wonders for me brother.

I would suggest low impact 45 minutes am / pm - that sheds bodyfat without killing muscle the best I've found for my body.

    Good luck bro.

5:30 meal has no protein at all.

8am meal only has 15 grams of protein

10 pm meal has no protein at all.

fix those 3 meals to at least have 30-40 grams of protein in each.

thanks a lot, and usually my 5:30 meal also has half a protein bar. But i will work on those other meals. Any good suggestions on what to have, I used to have black beans with my eggs but got so tired of them.

half a protein bar is still not enough. beans are not a complete source of protein.

chicken, steak, fish, cottage cheese, protein powder, etc..
