  • cables V/S free weight

    Nothing beats old fashioned free weight but in certian areas cables are better. Take the preacher curl for example with free weight the stress on the muscle is only so far in your range of motion before gravity takes over as where with cables on preacher curls the stress is all the way through the whole range of motion. What are some exercises that are better with cables, any opinions?

    I have no issue with free weights and cables. I interchange between them every couple weeks. When it comes to bicep curls you can play around with the position of your hand and target your bicep differently.

      yea I was wondering what the diff is between your standing hammer curl and your seated hammer curl you posted about the other day

        I believe i said standing Hammer Strength Curls. that's a machine one. Hammer curls are just free weights.

            Preacher Hammers are where its at..... To me free weights all the way,i use cable to change things up from time to time.Cables are good if you have an injury
