I wanted to post a little something on the subject of muscle soreness. We all know we have to shock our muscles to get them to grow. If I workout and don't feel some soreness the next day I really feel that I didn't do my best. I'm not speaking on actuall pain but I always try to make sure my workouts are intense and with intensity brings about soreness. I have noticed over the years that I see way better results in muscle growth when I'm good and sore the next day some days more than others. I have been doing squats with fairly heavy weight lately usually moving up in weight every set but really wasn't feeling it in my legs the next day. So the other day i did something different I did like 5 sets squats 20 reps per set then finished off my leg work out with various exercises and I was sore as hell the next day. Sometimes if I been doing reps for a certian exercise then heavier weight will bring the soreness. If i been doing heavy weight then higher reps may bring the soreness. I hate a trip to the gym where I feel like I could have done better or didn't really feel it the next day I feel like a wasted day. Everything that goes into the equation proper traing and form, proper nutrition and rest, knowledge of gear and proper pct which this site has helped me so much in all these areas. But I have learned that intensity is a major factor in my training and seeing the results I want. muscle soreness I think is key to muscle growth:weights:

you're supposed to go hard all the time. there is no simple, easy workout. I know i have had a good workout is when i get home and i am ready to sleep. I have felt that for a while now, and i love it.Originally posted by dago View PostYea it takes a really intense workout to get me sore Dna but I see way better results in my body when I go hard

i notice if I workout to close to bedtime I can't sleep but my energy is not as high during the day I usually peak around 6-7 in the evening. And yes I know you should always go hard I'm just speaking on muscle soreness in general. I have to switch up my workouts a lot so that I feel I've done something. Your responses are always on point when it comes to training and nutrition though Dna thanks bro

When you workout near your bedtime, what ends up happening is certain hormones are released to help aid your body during your workout. Post-workout, your body is still pumped and certain hormones are still following through. It will take a bit of time to get your levels back down.Originally posted by dago View Posti notice if I workout to close to bedtime I can't sleep but my energy is not as high during the day I usually peak around 6-7 in the evening. Just remember that soreness doesn't always mean hard workout. I can get soreness by twisting my ankle, does that mean i had a hard workout?

I feel ya but you know there is a difference in injury soreness and workout soreness give me a little credit I know when I'm injured. I'm just saying from my personal experience I see better results in my body when I am sore the next day. Its not always intense soreness. Example: I been doing heavy shoulder presses just real heavy weight 10 reps 8 reps 6 reps 4 reps and back up. Last night I did like I did with the squats 5 sets 20 reps then did dumb bell raises or lateral raises side and front for 20 reps 3 sets, 3 sets upright rows 15 reps close grip with really slow on the negative and then did 3 sets shoulder shrugs 30 reps per set. I normally don't do that high rep range especially with shrugs but you seen my pics my traps are big and that pic was last year I've improved since then. I really think muscle soreness from a good workout is good. Its working for me...Originally posted by dna9488 View PostWhen you workout near your bedtime, what ends up happening is certain hormones are released to help aid your body during your workout. My feedback is just to explain why certain things happen.
