  • Let the New Year Rush Begin!

Now that the New Year began, I'm sure you're aware that the gym gets busy... Do you feel more motivated to go to the gym when the New Years resolution people come to workout or do you feel more discouraged?

I feel the same honestly. I rarely miss a workout, and if the gym dies down, thats good for me. I feel as if i have the whole world to myself.

What happens during competition time, like 1-2 weeks before a show?

Our gym gets new faces, and gets crowded until the weekend of the competition, and than after that it dies for a few days, and returns back to normal.

Actually, it pisses me off. Bunch of fatties hogging all the gym equipment - wouldn't be bad if I knew they would stick with it. They'll be all gone by Feb 1 - back to their couches or wherever else fatties go.

The only thing I get out of it is that all treadmills are taken and I need to run outside in 20F and a 20mph wind. :pissed:

Understandably so! Now let me ask you.. When you see a newbie doing something improper (ie bad form, poor lifting techniques), do you speak up or just let them be?

I let them be. I am first going to make sure my form is proper and 100% before I help others and give them advice.

The newbies at our gym, they aren't newbies to lifting, they're just other NPC guys that come to train with other NPC guys. They work on their posing mostly.
