went to the gym tonight with a plan for chest but Idk what the fuck happened. I been doing a lot of incline presses and dumb bell flies kind of switching up the reps from week to week. Tonight I used a machine that I honestly never used before. Its cable action chest press but I noticed it kind of had a decline to it when I got through the whole range of motion. It has a pec deck attached to it and it dont have a lot of weight either but I could feel a good burn through my chest I could tell I was hitting a different part of my chest. So did 8 sets 20 reps super set with 8 sets pec deck 10 reps. Then said fuck it and did 6 sets triceps push downs even though i did arms 2 days ago I wasnt sore so...Gonna do legs tomorow take saturday off and come back strong on shoulders sunday. I didnt really know how many sets to do with the super sets you count them as 1 set i guess even though its 2 exercises? Thoughts??? Criticism...

Well, what you did wasn't a superset. Superset is when you hit opposite muscles back to back. Like doing a set of chest press then lat pull down after that. You kind of did a mini circuit going back and forth doing the same muscle group.
And I know everyone is different but I don't recommend doing triceps after a chest workout because you already worked them. But then again if that was all you did for your chest you didn't do much of a chest workout to begin with so I guess you were ok doing triceps after that. :D
What would've been great if you have done moderately heavy bench press or dumbbell chest press after all that pumping.

You really consider a superset only when doing opposing muscle groups? I always considered any 2 exercises in a row a super set, 3 a giant setOriginally posted by BEAST View PostWell, what you did wasn't a superset. Well, when you say super set almost everyone will think of doing opposite muscle groups. Some people call doing two exercise in a row for the same muscle super set also but I don't do that. And even though it might work just fine I don't see the point of doing two exercises back to back for the same muscle group. If you gonna do that add one more exercise and do giant sets. Then again that's just me. :DOriginally posted by alwaysgrowing View PostYou really consider a superset only when doing opposing muscle groups? To me super set means doing opposite muscle groups none stop back and forth and giant set is doing three exercises in a row for the same muscle group.
