I read alot of guys say they dont do flat bench do to it giving the pecs a funny shape or putting to much stress on the shoulders. What is the best upper body mass builder and at how much incline? Yesterday I did 4 sets flat 6 reps, incine to the next setting drop some weight and did 3 sets 10 reps more incline and 3 more sets 10 reps then 3 sets incline dumb bell flies and 3 sets pec deck. You guys think this is to much for a chest work out? I pretty much cut out flat bench after listening to some of the pros on here but how much incline? Or just do a few sets of both?

I'm having trouble with innner chest growth, pec dec dont seem to be doing much as dumb bell flies but I'm strong for my weight as far as bench goesOriginally posted by dna9488 View Posteveryone has different opinions bro. You have to play around and see what works for you. Dorian Yates says decline bench is the best because it knocks the shoulders out of the way and only focuses on your chest.

usually if done right, Incline DB Flies can really get deep in your chest and just stimulate the muscle. The key is come down until you feel a deep stretch. It has to feel like every tendon in your chest is being stretched. Its a good idea to do this as your last exercise or 2nd to last because your chest is already nice and warm. Do this during the beginning of your workout, and you might pull something.

I dont do flat bench anymore cuz it jacks my shoulder. I only incline now. I put it up one notch, if you go to high it works shoulders to much.
also on the pec dec you need to learn muscle mind connection. You have to realy focus on the inner chest doing the work or your shoulders will automaticly take the load. start light just to get the feel of it.
another great thing is bar dips with your chin in your chest.
