I'm 35 years old 5'10 214 lbs came off cycle close to a month ago. Never touched a steriod until 3 1/2 years ago and really didn't start cycling correctly and making any real gains until I found this site. Up until 08 I was lifting 4 times a week eating a somewhat clean diet with a couple protien shakes in there pwo and morning and my weight was about 190 fairly lean. I remember when I was a kid I used to think if I could ever bench press 200 lbs I'd be a beast lol over the summer I had a bet with a guy that said I couldn't get 205 for 20 reps he lost. 205 is warm up weight for me now just to get blood pumping. My favorite weight is 255-275 for training sessions with bench now depending how I feel that day. Legs usually no more than 315 because of bad genetics with my knees, really only my right knee the other 1 is fine but I don't push my luck my grandfather had both of his knees completely removed/replaced which he says are better than his natural knees. Looking back I never thought I would be stronger and in better shape at 35 than I was at 25. Realizing I am in my prime right now I search the web soaking all the info I can trying to find anything that will help me take advantage of my current situation. I just came off a 6 month cycle with test-e as a base and added different compounds such as dbol to kick start and about 4 months in I gave anadrol a 15 day run. I'm on nolva for pct now and am planning on training steriod free until april in which I have another 6 month cycle planned this time with a combo of test-cyp/test-e/tren-e and probably kick start again with dbol. Be my first time tren use. Will be on a 4x a week training routine with cardio 3x week. Calories will be heavy at the start with 300 grams protien and 650-700 grams carbs daily, fish oil 1 gram 4x day, 2000mg vit-c & 800 IU vit-e after training. Try to keep sodium intake in check and get more fiber in my diet as well. I'm not trying to go on stage just trying to pack as much muscle on my frame as possible and look/feel the best ever. Had thought Of doing a winter bulking cycle with some test/anadrol between now and april but am feeling it would be best to lay off the drugs and try to keep as much size as possible from my previous cycle. Any ideas or advice you guys could give me seriously appreciated. Have been reading up on gh as well but at this point am unsure about it all though it sounds very interesting. thnx :weights:

A friend of mine thats been training for a number of years when we were discussing this told me he feels he gets more muscle growth out of isolation exercises like db flies for chest instead of heavy presses. I usually do my heavy compound movements like bench presses first then try to do pec deck, cables or db flies or whatever for isolation exercises. Basically what I'm asking some of you vets on here is how has your training changed over the years or has it that much at all? What are some tricks or changes you have made?

Just keep mixing it up. Every few months change the order or change the exercises. I've just thrown out flat bench and incline for dumbells. Will prob swap back in a couple months.Originally posted by dago View PostA friend of mine thats been training for a number of years when we were discussing this told me he feels he gets more muscle growth out of isolation exercises like db flies for chest instead of heavy presses.

If I was 35, been juicing for only a few years and had the means as well as the ability to be selfish enough to make the investment in myself I'd keep running gear...you simply will not hold onto much mass when you come off.
IMO heavy deep compound movements build muscles. Isolation movements refine muscles.

I've just been trying different stuff like normally I have a day just for arms Bi's and Tri's after I have had a day off because arms are involved in so many different movements. Lately I been trying like triceps after my chest workouts which really has been working good because I haven't been doing a lot of bench presses to exhaust the tricep. Like you said I been doing a lot of isolation exercises for chest and am seeing good results in shape and size in my pecs. Another one has been doing back after biceps. With my biceps already taxed I can focus more on the pulling movements with my back muscles the bicep does not come into play as much. Only problem I have been having with the gear is some bloat in my face thats why I haven't posted any pictures of my progress trying to get this under control. Idk why it seems to go to my face the rest of my body doesn't seem to hold as much water.?Originally posted by GrowthMan View PostIf I was 35, been juicing for only a few years and had the means as well as the ability to be selfish enough to make the investment in myself I'd keep running gear...you simply will not hold onto much mass when you come off.

If you ever read through any of my threads thats why I'm such a big fan of winny no bloat ever..also the reason I got some tren for my upcoming cycle trying to avoid the water retention as much as possible..might go rados route and get some test prop instead of the cyp and enanthate

good for you bro, sound like you are really motivated as you get older. most people just turn into slobs and give up the drive to be anything but old and fat. *cough beast *coughOriginally posted by dago View PostI'm 35 years old 5'10 214 lbs came off cycle close to a month ago. Good job bro. As an older lifter, you've got to remember that your joints often don't keep up with your muscles and this is particularly as you get older. I found that lifting purely for strength with 3 reps or less especially put a huge strin on my joints. Be safe and listen to your body.
