      barbell shrugs = shit

      dumbell shrugs hit the entire trap. I usally super set them with the standing calf machine shrugs

              I've been doing barbell and dumbbell shrugs.

              I never use straps for anything and don't have any grip issues.

              Been doing 3 sets of 15 on each. Barbell I do with my thumbs almost touching, hands very close together. Dumbbell I do just beyond shoulder width, hanging at my sides like Bouncer said.

              Trying to get more peak/height and it's pissing me off.

                Ill try and explain it best I can

                grab DBs light weight pinch your traps together in the back like you wanna hold a dime or something inbetween them then put chin on chest and pull up while still squeezing them together (now the hard part) on the way down keep them pinched. Try it with no weight and i bet you get a pump in 10-15 reps with zero weight.

                the hardest part is keeping them pinched the intire time!

                  I place my hands on a barbell behind me and shrug with the barbell behind me. It is uncomfortable as fuck but through trial and error has brought me the best results.

                      Did you tear your labia douching your vagina? Jk...I know the exercise is awkward too.

                      What I have also found to work is to do two exercises. Maybe 3-4 sets barbell, 3-4 sets dumbell. That way you hit most all angles.

                        Yea I would never go behind the back. Same with pulldown for lats, never behind the neck.

                          He had me doin both. pulldowns 4 sets to the front, and 4 to the rear of the neck.

                              Pulldown behind the neck and barbell shoulder presses behind the neck are shoulder problems waiting to happen.
