  • Shoulder joint pain

Pretty sure it's from all the heavy benching over the years. It's always been my favourite exercise but I'm considering removing it from my workout. Not sure if its the joints or ligaments. I notice it even without any weight. Just taking stuff out of the fridge I get sharp pains.

Anyone experiance this and what did you do about it.

    Shoulder impingement probably...

Stop doing anything that causes pain (easier said than done because you quickly find out how many normal activities stress the shoulder, been there done that...), take anti-inflammatories and give the joint rest for few weeks. Have it checked out, but they'll probably not tell you anything different.

Yep...shit sucks.. Naproxen is what I got from the Doc for that. Real strong anti inflamatory.. It helped but gotta stop doing what makes it hurt man. I stoped flat benching too. Work with dumbells instead now for that.No more pain...

If the excersise hurts, then do something else.

my left shoulder hurt me for years to the point where I had physical therapy. I found if I benched anything over 365 it was much worse. I dropped the flat bench for a yr now and I have absolutely no issues. I will occasionally will do flat after DBs for reps with 225.

              If it hurts...don't do it.

              Differential diagnosis:

              A/C Impingement syndrome
              Rotator cuff tear
              Labral tear
Biceps tendon tearing (believe it or not)

Treatment: NSAIDS, stop doing what hurts! Schedule an orthopaedic eval and anticipate an MRI to diagnose.
In the meanwhile: internal and external rotator cuff Band therapy (yoga bands) YouTube should have vids of this.

Good luck!.... And a little Deca would certainly cut down the inflammation quickly ;-)
