  • Need to MRI my knee

So I've been getting some pain behind the right patella after squatting and doing extensions. It is fairly painful going up and down stairs when I ransfer my weight on to my right leg and flex it from a bent state to close to full extension. Doctor did x-rays, didn't find anything majorly amiss but wants an MRI before deciding if there is anything that will require an arthroscopic procedure.

Hopefully it is something that can be fixed, rather than a degenerative condition. I can't see myself squatting too much more if I can't address the pain. :(

I say until you find out you avoid as much as possible things that hurt it. dont be afraid of a couple ibuprofin a day either.

I say no more squatting until the MRI! Hopefully it's nothing major - just another sign of getting old ;)

        Good luck

I do? Since when? I have fewer injuries because I operate within my limits and don't push insane weights like some of you do. And the doctor thinks this knee thing is not an injury, but rather either an inflammation of some tendon that is rubbing against bone somewhere, or just early onset of arthritis due to my age. I'd say that at 47, I'm as healthy or healthier than many of you young fellas half my age.

Sorry to hear that bro, that sucks! Hope it's nothin too terrible, may just be something torn?? You could always do light weight lunges, hammy curls, and calf raises to still get your legs in there some...those shouldn't aggravate it too bad. I sure hope it's not arthritis!

Sorry to hear but hope your MRI turns out ok. Maybe just a severe strain or something.

Did the MRI this morning. My knee feels like a balloon, pumped full of the iodine and lidocaine. Perfect day to get my leg workout, I think. I'll be able to squat deep and not feel a thing

So I'm assuming it checked out ok? Or they not tell you results yet?

Don't have the results analyzed yet. The MRI clinic has to send it to my doctor. I need to set up an appt to review the results. Hopefully by next week.

lol bro, the guy could have seen a fucken dildo jammed in his knee and he would not say a thing to you. not his job to analyze, they just do the scans.

The MRI doctor does not offer any opinions on the knee itself. All she did was to indicate that the image came out ok.
