  • Personal best on incline last night

    I never really "max out". I started my chest workout with incline bench. Here is how it went;
    3 warm up sets
    Set1- 265 x 5 (pause on the chest on all sets)
    Set2-275x5
    Set3- 295x3
    Set4-245x11

    Im finally moving the needle again,whoohoo

        One you hit 300 for ten regularly your in a very rare class indeed!

        Then there are the freaks like bigscott on here

        All I would say though is its fine to focus strength for a while but make sure your using the muscles your intending to train if your bodybuilding

          if he used straight bar then there is alot of shoulders going on gotta use dumbells and know how to use them much more chest used
          simple test
          put your hand out like you have the bar in them push like you would lifting the weight keeping your hand where they would be on bar now flex when extended not to impressive huh
          now try same thing but moveing your hands like you would with a Dbell start in reg hand position then oush up while moving in to a point at top. now at top flex ooops that alot more impressive right

            Only defence to barbell over dumbell for bodybuilding in my eyes is that as you get pretty strong, the set up for dumbells becomes harder and as they get heavier they get wider.
            I screwed up my timing getting dumbells up today and by the time I got set I'd expended alot of energy.
            In contrast with a barbell you just grab and go.

              Yeah I'd imagine, especially for strong ass dudes like you. I was just using the 85lb dumbells for presses the other day, and even that was a bit of a pain in the ass.lol I can only imagine having 8-10 10's hanging off both sides of a dumbell, awkward probably

                Today I was "that guy" lol coming back training after my foot operation, weaker than I thought and after heavy dead lift session yesterday. Couldn't get thr 165s sat on my knee and was fucked by the time I got help. Pittyful display anf yeah I know I look like shit

                  Yeah getting them off my knees and into posistion is rough, that's main reason I hafta stop at that weight. I lift by myself most of the time, no partner to help in situations like that usually...not sayin I could do a lot more, but a little anyhow

                    you held the 165 up in 1 arm only for a few seconds waiting on the other lol that would of flipped me off the bench.
