  • Getting shoulders like Mr I

It's been about three weeks since I threw away dumbbell training for shoulders (apart from pressing) and I can already see my shoulders have grown. Instead of doing the lateral raises with dumbells and the bent ones for the rear delts I have been using cables. Feels like you can target the shoulder way more with cables and you can hit every head properly. Seems like its a lot harder to go strict with dumbells without using too much of your traps.

Hoodu stuff, I think its about what triggers your own heads to fire. People have very different postures and shoulders.

But with cables you feel the tension right away on side raises whereas with dumbells its only when you get half way up.

Its great that your thinking about it and getting a good mind to muscle contraction is key.

Hmm, will have to try this out. Was doing delts last night and was thinking how I've been doing the same 7 or 8 exercises for years. Shoulders are too used to them, need new shit to shock em...

post pics. stop being afraid. keep yourself honest and be willing to take any comment thrown at you. this will help you improve your girlish shoulders more then anything else. Mr.I has epic shoulders, you just need to look like you lift first. Small goals my friend.

All this "I'm training with a pro and changing my technique" is fine and dandy but it counts for very little if your diet is shit and you have the genetics of a polished turd. Trust me when I tell you, lifting technique has very little to do with anything. genetics is everything. Mr.I simply has the genetics for massive shoulders. He could train them like garbage and they would still look huge. Work hard and do the best you can do for you... but be realistic..

it just is true. if you didnt have the genetics for big shoulders you simply wouldnt have them. people like to fool themselves to feel better. it makes you feel good to think about how hard you have trained to have those delts. take away genetics and drugs and see how far that hard work gets you. i know this about myself and I know this about you as well. hard work is obviously needed but take away those 2 things and the outcome is very very different. most people will never come close to looking like me or you and that is very hard to mentally deal with. know your strengths and take advantage of them.

I see things in black and white. Most seem to see things in grey. Grey is the opposite of reality. I think I'm high. Lol

Red, don't listen to space invaider dude, shoulder construction is entirely methodical here but with intensity.

If what your doing is working stick with it, if you wany any advice say so otherwise thanks for sharing.
Bouncer, you have good shoulders too, there there lil guy x

I disagree bro. Correct training has everything to do with. That's something I have only recently learned and I have been doing this for nearly 20 years.

You know ive posted pics before.I have been totally gear free for about 18 months now and don't have an issue with it but yes obviously I'm half the size. I will never look as good as being on gear but I would rather have my health and money in the bank. It's not a priority for me anymore. I should still be able to enjoy training and any small improvements I make though.

One thing that shits me is these kids in their 20's in the gym who are slamming 2g's of gear and think they know everything about training. I have forgotten more about training and gear than they will ever know. You don't have to look like that to know what your doing. The difference is only that your choosing to shoot shit in your ass every week.

I feel like if you aren't feeling the weight of a dumbell in the lower position it's because you aren't feeling the contraction. A lot of guys in the gym use too much body motion with dumbells, swinging and swaying and such. Maybe try using a two count on the way up/down and pausing in the raised position with any lateral raise movements you use.

I just told you I am getting great results from cables and your telling me to go back to dumbells.
