Nope, I'm not saying abandon the cables. I'm suggesting trying dumbells with a new techniques. Concentrating only on the speed at which you lift the dumbell and pausing in both the contracted and loose positions. Using a slower motion to isolate the delt muscles.

Redback, when im firing on all cylinders, juiced, injury free this is a typical shoulder wkout;
Dumbell press
Machine press
Upright row
Side lateral dumbell
Side lateral machine
Rear lateral dumbel
Rear lateral machine
Shrugs either barbell, dumbell or both
As you can see I obliterate them thats not a workout for the faint of heart.

Damn, I've been killing mine the same for past year. Why mine still so fuckin small?! lol thats my problem, even training hardcore it takes my body 3x as long to grow as most ppls. Guess if I'd been on gear for the past 10 years it'd be a different story

I split shoulders up tho. After bi's & tri's I do traps.
Workout #1
3-4 sets upright rows
3-4 sets closegrip shrugs
2 sets dumbell shrugs running down rack to failure
Workout #2
3 sets wide grip straight bar shrugs behind back
3-4 sets med grip bar shrugs front
2 sets dumbell shrugs down rack to failure
On chest and back day I do delts
Workout #1
2-3 sets shoulder press behind neck (straight bar)
2-3 sets shoulder press front (both seated)
3 sets dumbell side raises (last set down rack to fail)
Workout #2
3-4 sets arnold presses(dumbell, seated, supinated to pronated)
3 sets close grip front raises
2-3 sets rear lateral raises
also mix in machine presses/side raises on 3rd workout
What should I change there in your opinion Mr. I?

lol I just always try not to do the same thing every time, that's all. If I just stuck to 2 or 3 exercises per body part I'd grow even slower, proved that to myself before.Originally posted by Mr incredible View PostSimplify!

People either do traps with shoulders or back. Anything else is crazy.
Shoulders should be;
Press
Uprights unless u dont get along or like me do them every two or three wkouts
Laterals
Shrugs
Other days I do;
Legs alone
Chest n arms
Back alone
Simple models, tweak here and there but you have to be able to give ur all to the excercise u are doing at the time.
