I was wondering if changing exercises frequently is good or is it better to stay with a routine then change after a period of time. When I do my back, one day I'll do cable row, dumbell row, lat pulldown and deads, then the next week I'll do something totally different like, barbell row, close grip pulldown, deads, and something else. Is this alright, or should I stay with a routine for a few weeks or so then switch?

In general you want to stay with a routine, so you can monitor your strength increases by seeing pounds go up, ie, adding a 5 lb plate each week etc.

    Above is a generality.

The key is to do anything for you specifically that promotes growth, if muscles are growing it is right.

So what your doing as long as you are growing is okay. Good thing about your routine is plenty of time to rest and replenish if you are really bombing the muscle.

    Good Luck

some peoples bodies adjust more rapidly than others to routines...ala homeostasis. I generally have to change my workout up at least every month because My body adjusts so freaking quickly.

I beleive that you should change your routine frequently.I always do something different from week to week .I think this prevents boredom, as well as keeping the body from adapting to a certain routine.I do keep the basic mass builders constant in my training, but add in some high intensity techniques at times, or change the rep scheme etc.,There are no rules, just gaining, that`s important.
