  • Anyone incorporating trail running, other offroad work into training?

Anyone doing any trail running or other offroad stuff? I want to do more of that - not sure I want to subject my knees to any more pavement pounding.

Turbo, blm, you guys do any trail running? My older sun runs X-C, so I might see if we can do some father/son runs in Forest Park here in PDX.

No running here. I get zero enjoyment out of running.

I do that too, but being outdoors in the woods is so much better.

I'm an awful runner. I am always jealous when I see someone run by with a perfect stride, they make it seem so effortless.

I have started hiking some, but I would like to do some trail running. The pavement is too hard on my joints.

Running inside is worse than dental work.

              This is a bodybuilding forum.

              Running isn't really conducive.

              Why are you here...?

I stink at running, but want to love it so badly. That Nike park you post pictures of sometimes looks like an awesome place to run! Do you ever run there?

FB, yes we run there occasionally. The good thing is that it is less than 10 min from my house. We've been going to Forest Park a lot more. It's a bit further (more like 20 min) but there is so much variety there. I've lived in Portland for 24 years and I have yet to exhaust all the trails there.

Went to a true running store today and let them evaluate my gait, it wasn't as bad as I imagined. Got some new Brooks (ugly, but very comfortable).

Do some ruck marching on trails. Load up some weight in a back pack and do some miles. Youll get a good work out. Start out light weight and short miles..add weight and increase the distance as your comfortable.

I go to a small state park here. It's fun. Way better than inside. The longest trail is just under 2 miles though. You have to come back though haha. Scenery and nature is great. Good hills up and down. Only thing I don't like about it is roots and rocks and random shit... ankles.

Awesome! I absolutely love getting n the trail. Can't think of a better way to spend a couple of hours.

Post up some shots of your trails, bro. I have some in a photography thread in the general chat section - I'll post some here too.
