  • The pain of training

So I'm starting to ratchet things up and with more frequency.

One thing I immediately notice is the increased levels of burn when you turn up the intensity.

Kind of acts as a further intensifier in itself as I get a little angry with the pain so I feel more conscious and train harder.

One thing that's tough to deal with us people coming to talk to me or standing idling when I'm trying to move around

I feel like your probably the type that's too nice in the gym.

Iv'e had times with my headphones on and hoody up where someone will come tap my shoulder to "chat" about some bs. I pretend like I thought they were just saying whatsup and I'll quickly look up and say "whatsup" bro and quickly start my set. Don't make eye contact either. It's an invitation to chat.

Also don't make the mistake of sticking around after your done training. You will pay for it the next day or the next when people start seeing you as one of the social regulars. There is alwaus those type of schmucks just waiting for the chance to chat about nothingness, I make sure those cunts think I'm some asshole that wouldnt be nice to talk with.

And they wonder why you look good and they don't. People need to stop smacking their gums and get to work.

I used to lift with a buddy that practically lived in the gym, used to is the key word. In between sets he would go off and talk to someone, the first couple times I thought they were friends, in actuality he had never met him before I found out, he did this often. A one hour workout turned into a three hour workout with this guy. I stopped lifting with him after a few weeks of this.

Everyone in my gym knows when I'm in the zone by my look of focus so I don't have any big problems there. I'm just saying that there is a huge physical pain difference between coasting / blood filling as opposed to really going at it to cause hypertrophy.

When I make that mental switch there is nobody else in the gym that can match my intensity and I can provoke muscle growth rapidly.

But I can't keep it up all year round

Just to add, if I feel like just spinning the wheels I don't interrupt other people unless they want to talk
