Reps over short sets?

To a point it does make sense....people don't realize the effort you put into a workout, set, even just a rep is what taxes your body/CNS and says I need to get bigger and stronger to survive this type of atmosphere. But I do also think it depends on your goals too...I know that when I switched from bodybuilding to powerlifting, my max squat went up, but the size of my quads went down. So in powerlifting, you do have to worry about the number(weight) to keep progressing(getting stronger)
The effort has to be there...don't count reps, go until you hit that point where you can't push anymore...that's when you will see results.
